Solstice Heritage are currently completing a long-term Historic England-funded project undertaken in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to provide a strategic characterisation of the historic farm building resource in the national park. This high-level conservation assessment keys in with the new Yorkshire Dales Local Plan and will inform the future management priorities of this vital part of the Dales’ heritage. Initial outputs of the project in which Solstice have been involved include the production of adopted SPD on the conversion and long-term management of field barns: a fundamental part of the landscape character of the Yorkshire Dales.
