‘HANGING STONE’, ROSEDALE
‘HANGING STONE’, ROSEDALE – HISTORIC BUILDING SURVEY, ARCHAEOLOGICAL MONITORING AND HERITAGE CONSULTANCY
Solstice Heritage was commissioned by the David Ross Foundation to carry out specialist historic building survey of a series of historic upland buildings in Rosedale, within the North York Moors National Park. This was followed by carrying out archaeological monitoring of works by the renowned artist Andy Goldsworthy to include these buildings within a landscape artwork called ‘Hanging Stone’. Our works focused on providing a thorough understanding of the structural history of the buildings in order to inform Andy’s vision for the artwork and comply with planning requirements, as well as heritage consultancy and liaison with the National Park Authority.
Our value to the client was our ability to provide sound liaison and advice on project planning and risk, as well as archaeological and historic building fieldwork services from a single reliable source.
